You will receive your bed completely assembled. There are hinges on the underside of the base allowing it to unfold flat.

Notice the 1/2" tall non-skid rubber bumpers and their opposing "pockets" allowing it to fold flat.

The bones are made of Europly, a nearly void free plywood with a birch core and hard maple face veneers. We use environmentally friendly, formaldehyde free wheatboard for the bottom base. Both the bones and base are neatly rounded over and finished with water-based satin polyurethane.

You don’t want your bed directly on the floor and neither does Lukas. Our new Bones Dog Beds are available in 3 sizes and are designed to hold Big Shrimpy Nest Beds and Bowsers Round Dog Beds.

About Our Bones Dog Beds...

The bones are made of Europly, a nearly void free plywood with a birch core and hard maple face veneers. We use environmentally friendly, formaldehyde free wheatboard for the bottom base. Both the bones and base are neatly rounded over and finished with water-based satin polyurethane.

About Big Shrimpy Nest Beds...

Big Shrimpy is an environmentally conscious company located in Seattle. Their nest bed’s outer walls and removable center pillow are made of soft polyester fleece with a tough 420 denier nylon pack cloth base.

They unzip to access an inner bolster and cushion made of ripstop nylon. The inner bolster and cushion are filled with recycled fleece scraps which will not break down as quickly as the filling used in most other beds. The inner bolster and cushion are odor- and water-resistant, but if necessary, they can be unzipped to remove and wash the fleece filling.

Of course, the outer covers and inner bolster/cushion are washable as well. The extra-small Nest (for cats and toy breeds) does not have zippered access to the filling but is small enough to be washed whole.
